Noted author and motivational speaker Stephen R. Covey once wrote that “Trust is the highest form of human motivation. It brings out the very best in people. But it takes time and patience.”

Mirroring people and relationships, trust also brings out the very best in IT. It is the most essential ingredient that binds us with compute, storage and networking. As a result, we have come to trust technology to work near flawlessly to maintain almost every element of our existence, both in business and in our personal lives.

Trust is the most critical element in storage networking. As a result of its predictability and performance over time, Fibre Channel has become the world’s most trusted foundation for storage.

Today, the Fibre Channel Industry Association kicks off “Trusted Foundation,” a new initiative designed to raise awareness to current and potential users of storage networking about why Fibre Channel has become so predominant, amid a sea of other storage networking protocols.

As part of the campaign, we travelled far and wide to visit storage administrators, industry analysts and other top technologists to chronicle why Fibre Channel is their network of choice for addressing modern data center storage issues. These entertaining and insightful stories, along with other resources, are now live within an interactive Knowledge Vault that will help you deliver greater business value though your IT infrastructure.

Over time, as the FCIA continues to earn your trust as the leading independent authority on storage networking, we look forward to updating our Trusted Foundation site with additional interesting information about best practices and advice in Fibre Channel deployment. We will also post new stories from users and others about Fibre Channel that, collectively, will better describe and demonstrate why Fibre Channel is the purpose-built and proven network protocol for storage, engineered to meet the demands of today’s enterprise data centers that require non-stop availability, maximum performance and simplicity.

Covey also reminded us that “Trust is the glue of life. It’s the most essential ingredient in effective communication. It’s the foundational principle that holds all relationships.” The FCIA looks forward to keeping the communication channels open and would love to hear from you.
